Putnam Lake firefighters, along with the Patterson Fire Department, responded to the fire in Putnam Lake at 4 Kingston Road around 1:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24, for a report of a structure fire, the department said.

Arriving firefighters quickly confirmed a working fire at the unoccupied home that was under construction and requested a second alarm, the department said.

Mutual aid resources were requested from the Brewster and New Fairfield Volunteer fire departments, while the Pawling Fire Department covered the station.

The fire was quickly knocked down and an overhaul was conducted to confirm the fire was extinguished.

The Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services and the Fire Investigation Team were on scene to assist.

The fire is currently under investigation, the cause is undetermined at this time.

No injuries were reported.
